Satsuki is an evergreen shrub belonging to the Ericaceae family. It grows naturally in the Rocky Mountains along the riverbanks west of the Kanto region and has been cultivated for ornamental purposes since ancient times. Satsuki is an abbreviation of "サツキツツジ".
