Itoigawa Shimpaku is a celebrated Japanese juniper known for its fine evergreen scale foliage and expressive trunk. This individual tree measures approximately 40 cm high × 36 cm wide. Please refer to its actual photos and video for the branch structure and silhouette.

For everyday care, provide bright light and good airflow. An outdoor or well-ventilated balcony position is generally preferable; prolonged indoor display requires suitable supplemental lighting.

Jin is a dead branch or branch tip, naturally weathered or carefully refined by bonsai techniques. Its pale sculptural lines contrast with living foliage.

Shari is exposed deadwood on part of the trunk, alongside living bark and a vital live vein, showing the passage of time and continued growth.

Not every Shimpaku has jin or shari. Refer to the actual product photos for this tree's features. Deadwood work and lime-sulphur treatments should be performed carefully to avoid damaging living tissue.
