🌺The Japanese name for Satsuki azalea is "皋月さつき". It is an evergreen shrub belonging to the Ericaceae family. Satsuki azaleas bloom later than other azaleas, around May. The fifth month of the Japanese lunar calendar is called "皋月" (Satsuki), hence the name of the month. However, because Hong Kong's weather gets warmer earlier than Japan's, there is a greater chance that it will bloom before May.
