Cultivation origins and natural distribution...Native to high-altitude rocky areas of Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu in Japan, at elevations of 1,100–2,500 m, it is also found in southern Hokkaido and Ulleungdo Island in South Korea.It is commonly found on forest edges, mountain ridges and rocky slopes, often growing in symbiosis with cedar trees, and is tolerant of high altitudes and grows steadily.Its leaves are bluish-green with silver tinges, and its posture is vigorous and upright, making it one of the most cherished varieties among bonsai enthusiasts and collectors.
