Small, scale-like leaves form the dense, distinctive texture of Sekka hinoki.

Sekka hinoki is a compact cultivated form of hinoki, valued for small, closely arranged foliage and a layered canopy. Its slow growth makes it a distinctive subject for bonsai.

A bright window, balcony or entrance with suitable growing conditions provides a calm setting for its fine foliage.

A meaningful gift

Evergreen life · Endurance · Good fortune

Hinoki has a long association with Japanese shrines and traditional culture. Its evergreen character symbolises continuity, protection and good fortune, making it a meaningful gift for a new home, business opening or anniversary.

The beauty of the tree

The distinctive Sekka foliage is compact, firm and three-dimensional. Its slow growth helps preserve a carefully developed silhouette, while the layered canopy rewards close inspection.
